So if you payed for say a cell phone and they told you they won't activate it for 3 weeks, you're fine with that?
That's a rather poor analogy.
As soon as you sign up for an account, you can download the program and use it... In the context of cell phone service, that's immediate activation.
This is more along the lines of, say, having new smart phone applications added to the app store only once a month, instead of as soon as they are ready.
