Post to existing thread brings up confirmation modal that does nothing

Since the forum software upgrade, whenever I post to an existing thread without using the "Reply" or "Quote" function, after I submit my post, I got a confirmation modal with my post in it. That I already posted. This modal does nothing and the only interaction seems to be X / (close).

My post that I just posted, will still have its text in the bottom-of-screen text entry box, as though it had not been posted. But it has been, and a refresh will show the post.

Note this does NOT happen when I Reply or Quote someone else's post.

Edited to add: this was using Chrome on both Windows PC and two different iOS devices.

I noticed that earlier, as well. It was a little confusing: because the text entry box was still at bottom, I thought it hadn't been posted despite the message. So I tried again, but it told me it had been posted and i had to wait so many seconds to post again.

In addition, when you go back to the thread in which you posted, your (most recent?) post's text is still in the text buffer of the box at the bottom. Meaning if you want to say something new, you need to delete all that before you "Post reply".

IMO this cannot possibly be intended behavior.
