Well, you also have to look at the posters we have heard, many of them deep in the role playing comminity. I imagine the number of big spenders here is much, much higher then the real average becasue of that.

No, I don't think it's common, and collectors are still rare. Remember, this is just the ENWorld community being polled. I don't want to use the word "obsessive", but...
 

Remember that the polls have also shown that most of the ENworlders are DMs. That makes us the more obsessive of gamers.

Plus, those of us who actively seek out a community to discuss changes to the game, game rules information and so on are even more so...
