'disputed origins'? that's putting it mildly... most have called them out and out fakes and the few real tests that have been done on them have found unmistakable signs of steel tool marks.

Apparently, they're a cottage industry in a part of Germany, or so I hear. Because, hey, they're cool.

Still, I suppose I can suspend disbelief enough to go see it... it's Indiana Jones!

And fringe theory makes for great plots. Heck, I expected Indy IV to be Indiana Jones and the Antarctic Space Nazis!

At least we now know that Indiana Jones didn't have his right eye injured (thus needing the eyepatch that he wore during the 1990's in the bookends of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles episodes) by 1957.
