Gah! Some of them are a bit of a pain to read though, like Hive, Movies, what I presume is OT, and Poly. Personally, I think posticons looking like the control buttons at the top would be better. They're at least easy to read.

I dunno, I kinda like the look of all those little red X's.

Edit: and of course, all the red X's went away right after I posted that.

I love the idea of posticons, however the one's at Nutkinland seem to be done better, easier to read. I also don't like how they appear at the top of every post. That's kind of annoying.

I need to get a computer program which can seek out every reference to posticons on the boards and post the following.

These are temporary posticons which are being used to get the system working. Once it is working, we will be getting nice new posticons and picking and choosing the best of them. If you check the general discussion forum, you'll see the long conversation from a couple of days ago where I asked for some emergency fill-in posticons for the moment, and these are the ones which people kindly whipped up at extremely short notice.

Will/can there be a way to turn them off entirely? They clutter up the screen, particularly on the forum page which lists threads, and don't provide any new, valuable information. The thread already has a title.

There's no way to turn them off.

They're nothing new - we've always had posticons. They used to be smiley faces, thumbs-up icons, that sort of thing. They've just been replaced with posticons relevant to this board instead of generic icons.

The idea is that they replace topic tags such as [OT].

They're nothing new - we've always had posticons.

The ones before weren't so intrusive, and no one really used them much. Now every post gets at least the "general" tag, even if you click "no icon".

Feh, don't mind me, I'm just a curmudgeon at the ripe old age of 24. In my day, you snail-mailed your post to the board moderator, and if you included a bribe he might add it, depending on his mood. Kids these days.
