Potion Question

Its just gone 6 AM, I can't sleep and I can't seem to find an answer to this question which has been bugging me this evening.

If you have a spell with a duration that can be dispelled by the caster (D) and brew a potion of that spell, can the drinker of said potion likewise cancel the affect before the duration runs out?

Could someone point me to the right book/page for this as well. Thanks.

Quibble: (D) = Dismissible, not dispellable.

DMG pg. 229, under the description of potions, says "The drinker of a potion is both the effective target and the caster of the effect (though the potion indicates the caster level, the drinker still controls the effect, such as with levitate)". Considering that quotation, I think it's fair to let the drinker dismiss the effect if he wishes.

Sorry, yes. Thats what I get for posting at 6 AM with no sleep. ;)

Thanks very much. Greatly appreciated.
