Sure - but a problem only being an issue at higher levels is still an issue. Mid-Paragon tier, a character could stock-pile enough Salves to have this power in every fight, and Resist 5 all day long is pretty strong - especially since, by then, there are ways to reduce the penalties from combat advantage.
Well, by mid-Paragon tier, most characters should have +4 armor, and specter plate armor (a type of masterwork armor in Adventurer's Vault) grants resist 2 all at the cost of -1 to AC compared to warplate armor. Granted, this approach requires the fighter to take plate proficiency, but the brazen assault approach requires the expenditure of more gold and more magic item daily abilities.

Okay, guys, I just spoke to Chris. The error wasn't in the "reliable" keyword. The error was in having the "Effect" line. It's supposed to happen on a hit only.

This is official, straight-from-Chris-Youngs errata, and will be changed in the final compilation.

Kudos, Mouse, the article is great! I'm quite liking the Class + Skill requirements for the powers. Opens possibilities for development!

I'm glad to see some love for Beats rangers.

Although, I honestly thought the Power Source articles would present powers that anyone from X power source could take. SImilar to Skill powers, but instead of it hinging on skill, it's related to powersource. (Although I could see a converging of both - Skill powers that, instead of utilities, are attack powers - they just could be used by anyone of a certain power source).

Mouse is the man.

The one drawback I feel about these powers is that 2/3rds are in Paragon/Epic. Which I fear I'll never reach, and thus never get to use them.

Can't wait for the Arcane and Divine version of these articles. I hope that the Arcane one has artificer and swordmage powers in it.

As an artificer player, I can't wait for Monday's article. A whole new build, yipee!
