“Bad Axe Games excited us right from the beginning with some of the best artwork and production values we’ve seen in a D20™ game. Obviously content is key, but good art can really inspire and set the tone of a game or campaign. Good art gets you excited and can help add nuance and subtleties to a character or make a place seem more real. Their first book in the Heroes of High Favor series, Dwarves, does just that. Just one look at The Battle-rager, a fighter-barbarian prestige class, and you know it’s just right for that kill-first-ask-questions-later guy in your game group.” says Osseum President, Adam Williams.

The Heroes of High Favor series will detail all the core races including dwarves, elves, gnomes, half-elves, halflings, half-orcs and humans. Each book will contain new feats specific for each race. Dwarves includes fighting styles and style specializations, mystical Runecrafting feats, as well as traditional dwarven craft skills such as armorsmithing, weaponsmithing and stonemasonry. It also goes beyond the “masterwork” concept by adding a complete ruleset to create such items as adamantine swords or mithral plate.

Each book is 64 pages and perfect bound. Its unique 6” x 9” trim size allows for portability and it’s $9.95 price point makes it one of the most affordable sourcebooks on the market.

Thanks Daniel. I am happy to see other folks carrying the press release who also took the time to clear up a couple of obvious mistakes in the original wording. =)

Joe, we don't have any plans right now to cover anything other than the core races. The series really isn't focused on presenting new races, but rather on building upon what is already offered with the core races and core rules.

If we were to discover an OGC race that had a significant player following, had something new or important to offer, covered a new favored class that we haven't already visited, and most importantly, wasn't patently silly, we might consider it. (To sort of couch it in Star Trek terms, we don't need yet another race with a wrinkly forehead.)

Our work on the HUMANS book sort of throws things wide open, at any rate.

Let me know if there are any other questions or suggestions.

Humans eh? That could be a real interesting book. I hope to see some more core classes or ideas on how to craft different types of characters. One of the things I enjoyed about the Wheel of Time were the classes. The Noble, Wanderer (loved this for those who didn't want to play a straight thief), and Woodsman (don't like the ranger for all purposes.) Of course, background feats would be another way to craft and sculpt such characters.
