[PR] ePublisher Guide Released!

For the amount of quality business information that is included in this book from well respected people in this industry, it's actually the best 20 bucks you'll ever spend on your company. The tips given inside are bound to save you a lot more then that in wasted time and money.

Anyway, this doesn't have a huge audience and it has to recover it's costs of creation and paying a ton of freelancers.

How much more is the POD version than the PDF? I'll probably pick that up, instead. If I'm forking over that much dough, I'd rather have the info in print anyway...

It's only $5 more for the POD version.

I would recommend anyone considering e-publishing to pick it up. It's a small investment for what you get, and can save you from mistakes that can cost you big money later.

Consider the POD version an example of our POD Service as well. We'll include 2 pages of art in the back just so you can see how line art and greyscale turn out. The cover is perfect bound and full color. Regretfully, I couldn't get the damn charts in the book to be in higher resolution (damn Excell) so they may not look that good in the POD version.

Anyway, remeber to still download the ZIP file if you buy the POD version as you'll want to have the Contract Samples and the POD Budget Worksheet as well.

Here's the link to the POD verison:

Oh, and here is a link to the DEMO for you lazy folks:

Only tangentially related, but...

I saw this and went to purchase using Paypal.

When I got finished with the "paypal" screens and was returned to the order_confirm.php screen, the stuff was still in my cart. Note that I *did* get a paypal confirmation of the payment instantly.

I know sometimes RPGNow seems to take paypal payments "instantly" and empty my cart and send me the links once I'm done with paypal. Other times it doesn't empty the cart (and send me the download links) for a good deal of time after the payment is made. Any technical reason for this? I'm guessing in the latter case, you have a human manually process it, as you do with money orders, but I'm not sure. Just curious as to why using paypal is sometimes instantaneous and sometimes not.

I'm wondering if it's perhaps based on whether or not I select a shipping address - or "no shipping address" at paypal?

I'll admit, I wanted to download & print this at work (I have half an hour left now - ordered with just over an hour left) for weekend perusal. Oh well. :( EDIT: Just got the links via e-mail. But my original question remains - why does paypal work "instantly" sometimes and "not instantly" others?

If you don't get the link within 5 - 10 minutes, just email us.

Paypal is have loads of trouble today. About 10 orders I've had to manually complete. The reason is they do a POST call to our server to complete the order, if the interent or their server or our server is lagged, I think it sometimes times out. When that happens your stuff sits in your shopping cart. If something is still in your cart by the time you return to our site I suggest you send us your customer ID right away and we can fix it right away.

EDIT: Of course the stupid internet sometimes takes a while to deliver the emails too (which is why I put the links on the order completion page for credit card payments). Anyway, the only reason the items would be in your cart though is that paypal didn't submit the reciept to us in a timely maner.

I've had a chance to look through my copy and I must say I'm very pleased.

Not only is there supplemental information, but there is lots of pure business crunchy stuff (nice looking charts, graphs, etc.)

In my opinion, this product offers plenty of bang for the buck, especially if you are intent on publishing yourself.

I'm glad I picked up...now I just need to curl up with it for a while.
