[PR] ePublisher Guide Released!

Do everyone a favor and leave that feedback under the COMMENT section at RPGNow :) It helps sales and helps people swallow the higher price. As you'll read in the book, comments/reviews are important when they come from someone other then the writers :) Which is why RPGNow also inforces a rule that you have to buy something before you can comment on it.

I'd be interested in more indepth feedback from anyone. Corrections/errors too. We plan to revise it by Monday for the POD printing.

Oops, sorry James...I should have considered that first off.

I've left a comment on RPGnow that reflects my positive/initial impressions of the book. After reading cover to cover reading I'll develop more detailed feedback.

James, I've been taking a skimming look at it, and it's GREAT! I'm especially appreciative of some of the crunchy data bits that are spread throughout -- graphs, solid sales figures on different product categories, etc. This is something of significant use to me as an established print publisher, and it would be a godsend for someone just starting out, PDF or otherwise.

(My own contribution was just to send James a rough spreadsheet to include in the package -- small potatoes, compared to the hefty meat of this item!)

Hope to see/hear some feedback (good and/or bad) so we can update before the POD version goes to the printer.

Check over page 19 of the main PDF, left column around the middle. There is a misplaced carriage return in mid-paragraph, and then there seems to be some missing text at the start of a paragraph after a header a little further down.

I've been looking at it, and if I'd had the opportunity to do so two years ago, I would have paid $50 for this product without flinching. It's great.

That said, if you're not really, really serious about publishing, then it's not really for you. But if you are, you should get it. No question. Even if you want to publish print products, there's a lot in here you can use (bugeting, incorporating, layout advice, sample contracts... the list goes on).

Edit: Fixed the error pointed out to me.

Thanks John & Monte :) Can I quote you on that ?

James
P.S. I think Monte meant if you're not really really serious about publishing it may not be for you. Think he made a typo. Monte?
