[PR] Sidewinder: Recoiled

First Post
The following was posted to the d20WildWest yahoo mailing list. I thought I'd share it here as well.

Press Release

July 24, 2003 - Effective July 1st, 2003 the rights to the ENnie nominated Sidewinder: Wild West Adventure™ have reverted from Citizen Games to its original creator, Geoff Spakes. The newly formed Dog House Rules (www.doghouserules.net) will be publishing Sidewinder: Recoiled™ in PDF format for release sometime in late summer or early fall. This supplement will take the original concept of d20 pure wild west and convert it to the d20 Modern rules system.

The writers working on Sidewinder: Recoiled™ feel that the d20 Modern system will do the wild west genre more justice that the original d20 system does. The main thrust of Sidewinder: Recoiled will be to compile a foundation of skills, feats, and advanced classes for the wild west genre to build upon for future works.

Plans for future PDF support material are already in the works; these supplements will be written to support both Sidewinder: Wild West Adventure™ and Sidewinder: Recoiled™ in their respective d20 and d20 Modern formats. The loyal Sidewinder™ community has been clamoring for support material, this is the perfect opportunity and PDF the perfect media to bring it to them in a cost-effective manner.

Negotiations are nearly finalized for Citizen Games to bring some previously unpublished Sidewinder: Wild West Adventure™ material to print.

Further details will be forthcoming as they develop.

Nother update about Sidewinder Recoiled from Geoff

There's been a slight update to the Dog House Rules website to implement the
full website structure. As sections of Sidewinder: Recoiled get finished up,
we will be posting previews.

Keep on crankin' bubba

i almost picked up Sidewinder before, but always thought it would've been better with d20 Modern as the base.

i'll definitely be keeping an eye out for this.

Yes, it should be interesting to see. Modern wasn't an option when they did Sidewinder initially, I believe.

Max

Max is correct in his assumption in that d20 Modern wasn't an option when the original Sidewinder was created as it didn't exist. But I'm confident that Recoiled can and should be a great leap forward for the wild west in d20.

I'm definately looking forward to getting done with the main rules and moving on to further Recoiled supplements.

thanks for the clarification. i wasn't "aware" of Sidewinder until after d20 Modern had already come out, thus my comment.

i am eager to see the finished product; the "Wild West" is one of my favorite gaming environments, even if i can rarely convince anyone else to join me there. :(
