[PR Silverthorne] Book of Templates Deluxe - Coming Soon!

Hey, this thread's been an interesting read!

I was just curious if you are including any templates that would work well for a campaign with a significant amount of underwater action. My old character died in last night's session and I'm looking for something with the same ECL.

Thanks!

There are a number of creatures that can be used in an underwater setting, but have no direct aim at the aquatic region. The one template directly aimed at the sea is not something a DM should allow in a PC. What ECL are you aiming for?

The Half-humanoid template or its cousin Humanoid microplate can allow you to make, say, an orca or dolphin—or a shark, or an octopus, or what have you—into a humanoid. There are also "Half-" templates that work well with underwater campaigns, especially the fey-oriented templates. We even have a race of fey merfolk in the book (ECL +1).

So, I think there’s something in here for you—with your DM’s guidance of course. ;)

Well, the campaign has all the players with an ECL +1 (they're all Aasimar) so I'm looking for the same!

Thanks for the help, I'll keep an eye open for the book!

Please forgive me for pimping someone else's product on this thread. If you feel it's inappropriate, I'll remove it.

Dave G... you may want to take a look at Green Ronin's Bastards and Bloodlines. I think there is a half-Merfolk template in there that is ECL +1.

I never balk at promoting Green Ronin ... and no, I don't work for them. They just produce cool stuff and have great, industry-strengthening policies on OGC and such.

The Half-humanoid can easily give you an ECL +1 humanoid animal. (Especially appriopriate to "furry" campiagns.)

Anyway, when you get the book, I hope you can get what you want. I think you will.

You won't have to keep drooling for long, my good Smeagol. Coming very soon. The book is in layout as we speak and when I get the file back, we're ready to rock.

I'll be at Gen Con this week, so it will probably be end of July at the earliest. However, it will not take until Labour Day - I promise ;)

Cheers!
Ian
