[PR Silverthorne] Book of Templates Deluxe - Coming Soon!

::looks up from desk where he's been slaving away::

Oh! Hey, Narleth.

Sorry for the delay in responding to yer post. We've upgraded our computers at work (real-world job), so I've been networking away for a bit. Also, been working on the final touches for the Book of Templates: Deluxe Edition (which is why you're here, eh?) :)

OK. Chris Sims (Khur on the boards here) is wrapping things up as far as the final smoothing out and organization of the book. He should have the final file to me by today or tomorrow, at which point I will whisk it off to Mr. Phil Reed for layout and Mr. Christopher Shy for a snappy cover. Then, the PDF will be released (at long last!)

We think it will be worth it. This thing is going to clock in at 250+ pages with over 1/3 of the 85 templates (yup, there are 85!) having a shiny new illustration of their own.

The project has been delayed a few times due to real-world concerns, rapid expansion of the number of templates and other supplemental goodies we wanted to include (this thing is *packed* with crunch), and then we had some varying writing styles that needed to be smoothed up a bit. Plus the normal edits, working up some exhaustive appendices, etc. Lotsa work!

So, hopefully that answers the question. Was that what you had in mind? :D

Cheers!
Ian

Hostage, I tell ya!

Okay! I'm holding this book hostage for only a few more hours. I'm the hold up at this point, I admit it. I seem to have a problem with "closure".

All seriousness aside, though, I just want to polish everything in the book up to a nice sheen. It's easier to hypnotize Frilf with it that way.

Direct all complaints to me.

Peace!

:D

Ok. I admit it, too. Khur is holding up this project :D

Seriously, the final doc should be in my hands ASAP and then it will be turned over to Phil Reed for layout and graphic design work. He (Phil) says it will take about 2-3 weeks for the completed file to be ready for release.

Bummed? Well, while it will be a bit longer than expected (Phil's a busy guy and very in-demand), there should be a sneak peek available very soon to tide you over - a complete and ready template for your use in the meanwhile!

So, as you can see, every cloud does indeed have a silvery lining :) Hang in there! We're in the homestretch now! Thanks for being so patient with us. Quality takes time. Frilf out.

Cheers!

Well, it's looking like I'll finish Plague of Dreams much faster than I expected (it would go even faster if I'd stop reading while I work) and get deep in monsters before the weekend.

My time estimate has to take into account some very big projects that I've been working on for a year (including a boardgame design that's finally nearing the end of its design and development cycle . . . illustrated by John Kovalic!).

I'm saying three weeks but I'll try to make it sooner than that.

Well?

:D

I think the copy reads very well. No particular grammatical errors to speak of. A very respectable blend of information and promotion.

Sounds very exciting! Can't wait to see it.

Thanks, Devon!

BTW, your fey-kissed made the final cut into the book so, congrats! I think folks will like it alot - I did! :)

I'm emailing you about the quasi-elements.

Cheers!
Ian

So, can we also post pics of our creations?
Sure, Narleth. Not a problem. I was hoping you would, actually ;) Can't wait to see what you and Rob do with the Drider template. Yes, it's a borrowed OGC template, but Chris & I have kind of made it our own, so to speak :) Still, should be good. The athatch drider would a good one to do, methinks... Very nasty critter! :D

Cheers!
