PrC- Soldier of Tempus - a clerical smackdown prestge class

Isida KepTukari

First Post
This is a PrC I made at a friend's request. Essentially it is the ultimate clerical smackdown. Kind of. He's meant to have some spellcasting abilities with a good selection of heavy damage-dealing abilities. However, methinks it might be overpowered some. I'm hoping I could ask for assistance in balancing it. Much obliged. :)

Soldier of Tempus

A Soldier of Tempus is one who revels in the strength of his god. Both a priest and a mighty fighter, he strives to smite his enemies in one blow, often laying waste to entire battlefields. Using the favored weapon of their god, and employing fearsome battle skills along with divine power, a Soldier of Tempus is a welcome addition to your side of the battle.

For those not playing in the Forgotten Realms, please see notes at the end of the PrC to modify it for your world.

Class Features:

Weapon and Armor Proficiencies - The Soldier of Tempus gains no additional weapon or armor proficiencies.

Spells - A Soldier of Tempus gains +1 caster level every other level.

Improved Critical - With his focused axe only.

Supreme Cleave - A Soldier of Tempus gains the ability to take a 5-foot step before making a Cleave or Great Cleave attack. He is still limited to one such adjustment per round, so he cannot use this ability during a round in which she has already taken a 5-foot step. (EX)

Strength Boost - Starting at 3rd level, a Soldier of Tempus can call upon Tempus to boost his strength by +4 once per day. A Soldier can boost his strength one additional time per day for every three levels above third. This bonus lasts for 4 rounds plus the Soldier's Con mod. This is considered a Sacred Bonus. (EX) (Modified from S&F, Fist of Hextor)

Power Critical - As the feat of the same name. (MotW)

Strike of Tempus - On a successful critical strike, a Soldier of Tempus can call upon his god to increase the multiplier of the critical hit by one step, when attacking with his specialized axe (i.e x3 damage becomes x4). This can be done twice per day. (EX)

If you are not playing in the Forgotten Realms, this class could simply be called the Soldier of (Appropriate Deity), as long as Strength is one of their domains. The favored weapon can be switched to the appropriate one for the new deity.

I like it.

Although in addition to requiring the character to have the Strength domain, I would also add "Must be able to cast 2nd level Divine Spells" as a prerequisite,

i like it, too.
Look at the Mighty Contender of Kord for a somewhat similar power-cleric.

I believe the +1 level of spellcasting should be on the even levels, not the odd-numbered levels.

I like it. And probably the dwarven fighter in my group will be very interested in it. As far i can see it is not unbalanced. If he will take it i will give u our playtesting impressions!
