PRCS for a warmage?

The mage in me loves it.
Mastery of Shaping is the real honey from AM; now they can blast to their hearts' content, without worrying about hitting allies.

How about Warmage (6)/Swashbuckler (4) with the Arcane Strike feat? I do believe that Warmage Edge can be applied to a strike enhanced by a spell using Arcane Strike. Using a finesse weapon, that would mean Int could be applied to damage rolls twice. Extra Edge makes that even nastier.

Of course this hinges on how a DM interprets the Arcane Strike. Is it a use of a spell to do damage, which would qualify it for Edge? Or is it just a feat-based ability powered by a spell? Considering that the Warmage/Swashbuckler went out of his/her way to combine two disparate classes JUST to get this ability, and it STILL hinges on a less-than-perfect BAB (6 levels of the marmage's sucktastic BAB progression), I'd say it's not overpowering. It's just a kinda neat trick, which may even mesh nicely with role-playing that particular character (clever son of professor/whatever at warmage college has little real interest in the discipline forced on him, and delights in experimenting with his abilities on his own, getting him in trouble and expelled just weeks before graduating; such that now he has no army to back him up and he must learn to be his own meat shield).

I'm not suggesting Swashbuckler is an IDEAL match of a warmage, but it's an idea at least ;)

Elemental Savant (I think) from the Complete Arcane could be interesting. Turn all your spells to acid or cold or something :)

That's an interesting build. Why go Clr/Pal to get into Argent Savant though??

Argent Savant requires:
Skills: Knowledge (arcana) 6 ranks; Spellcraft 12 ranks
Spells: Able to cast at lease five spells with the force descriptor, at least one must be 5th level or higher

I'm not sure how cleric or paladin would help you meet these req's...

It'd probably help if I'd remembered I was recommending Silver Pyromancer from Five Nations, which is a rather nice blasty PrC.

I'm occasionally airheaded like that. :)

I recently made a warmage/blessed of Xaarcon (from Green Ronin's drow book) drow NPC. Abilities of that prestige class stack nicely with those of a warmage as long as you focus on fire spells.
