Pre-Alpha, really?

i'm voting- c. No one at WotC knows jack-all about software development, and we shouldn't expect any of the tools to be working until 2009 or 2010.

of course there could be a few people that do know what they are doing but didn't like the budget so they are working things to be corrected by an emergency budget to fit "the unexpected customer demand" when the servers are flooded during the first week.

Where is the WotC quote that says that the current build is pre-alpha, because those quotes, can be read to be that it isn't.

Chris Youngs and Didier Monin, both of whom were demoing the Virtual Game Table (VGT), specifically mentioned that what was being demoed at DDXP was the CURRENT version, which was still pre-alpha.

D&D Insider (DDI) is composed of 6 products:

Rules Database
Character Creator
Character Visualizer
Character Creator
D&D Virtual Game Table
Electronic Content (Dungeon, Dragon, Gleemax)

Only two components of DDI were demoed at DDXP. The Character Visualizer, which didn't look too shabby, and the VGT, which obviously needed some work.

At least at DDXP they did not give a solid date for when this will be released.
