Pre-Ravenloft Vampire Villains

My party features three vampires (homebrew race) who've found themselves embroiled in plots involving the von Zarovich family and Drelzna (Iggwilv's half-vampire daughter). It's proven hugely inspiring and successful, so I'm actually looking for even earlier vampire villains from D&D history.

I've heard of Palace of the Vampire Queen, but I don't think she was ever mentioned by an actual name and I know very little of her back story. Could someone enlighten me? And are there any other vampiric villains I could draw from? Thanks!

Vlad Tolenkov from Queen of the Demonweb Pits.

Prince Morphail Gorevitch-Woszlany of Boldavia appeared in Glantri, but I don't recall if he was used as a villain in anything. Wasn't Mikhail the villain?

Yeah, the girlfriend was hot.

They had a stronghold in a cavern just short of the Vault, IIRC -- first or second major encounter before entering the Vault?

Something like that. I think I just packed D3 yesterday, which is probably why I remembered 'em (though I had to google the names).

Didn't one or both also reappear in one of the Paizo-era Dungeon magazines?
