The Yautja (known by most as the Predator) are a race of hunters from a distant planet/plane. The average yautja is between 7 and 9 feet tall, and weighs from 600 to 1000 lbs. Their skin can be almost any color, but shades of green and black are most common. They are usually very muscular with no body hair. Both the yautja's hands and feet have long claws that are harder than adamantine. At birth and through young adulthood the yautja have a ring of hair very similar to a humans, but once they become a hunter they go through a very long and painful ritual that turns their hair into thick dreadlocks with a plastic/rubber like sheen. The most terrifying thing about the yautja to humans is their head and face. The yautja have small deep set eyes, they have no known nose. Over thier mouths are two large skin flaps that open to the side and end in various sized tusks. Under the flaps they have a large gaping maw and razor sharp teeth (lucky for their prey the yautja never bite in combat). The tops of their heads are domed and some sport cranial ridges. Along the edge of this dome is their hair.
The yautja society is based entirely around the hunt, and the honor gotten from the hunt. They are not evil as there prey would believe. They only hunt species designated as lawful prey. The yautja will not kill those unable to defend themselves or children of any species. They only get honur from killing those that could kill it, or are able to defend themselves against it (the yautja have been known to not use some forms of weaponry to even the odds). They have their own laws which are very strict, particularly laws dealing with the hunt. By human standards all yautja live by a code of honor similar to the samurai of medieval Japan.
How a non-yautja can join the hunt:
It is possible for a non-yautja to be accepted into the yautja race. This is not as rare an occurrence now as it was centuries ago. To be welcomed into the clan, A non-yautja must be blooded. This is when a leading yautja hunter carves his personal sign/symbol into the recipients fore-head (similar to an arcane mark). This symbol must be earned. A few examples are, by saving the life of a yautja, by helping fell a powerful prey with a hunter, by performing a great service to the yautja society, honorably fighting and defeating a yautja.
Hunter Technology:
COMING SOON

Combat:
The yautja are an honorable race in combat. They would never attack while invisible and few would attack from hiding.

Special Attacks:
Shriek: A yautja can emit a ferocious and terrible sounding shriek/roar when not wearing a hunter mask. Creatures who successfully save against this attack cannot be affected by the same yatja's shriek fore one day.
Affect: All those within a 30 ft. spread must succeed at a Will save (DC 30) or flee in terror for 1d4 rounds. Those beyond this range but within a 80 ft. spread automatically suffer a -2 morale penalty to attack and damage rolls for 1d8 hours.

Fear Aura: At the mere sight of a yautja, the viewer must succeed at a Will save (DC 20) or be paralyzed with fear for 1d4 rounds. Whether or not the save is successful, that creature cannot be affected again by that yautja's fear aura for one day.

Special Qualities:
Blindsight 20 ft.: Due to the yautja's training to hunt from birth, they have developed incredible natural senses that allow them to sense the presence of anything approaching within 20 ft.
Damage Reduction 15/+4
Cold/Fire/Acid Resistance 20: Due to the adaptability of the yautja's body's they are able to survive in most hostile climates without any protection.
Poison/Electricity Immunity: Due to the adaptability of the yautja body, poison has no affect on them. Over the centuries the yautja technological advances have made them eventually adapt to be immune to shock and electricity.
Heatvision 360 ft. : The natural vision of the yautja is a form of infrared vision. Due to this prey can hide from an unmasked yautja by changing there outer body temperature to that of the air around them.
Mimicry: Yautja can imitate the sounds of almost any creature they hear and have time to study. *They can only repeat phrases/sounds they have actually heard.
Improved Tracking: Yautja are consummate trackers and make track checks at (spot check+wilderness lore) to trace a creature's passage.
Natural Cunning : Yautja possess innate cunning and logical ability. This makes them immune to maze spells, prevents them from ever becoming lost, and enables them to track enemies. Further they are never caught flat footed.
Uncanny Dodge : The yautja can not be caught flat footed and can not be flanked or the subject of sneak attacks.:)

Ok- other than being slightly overpowered for the guy (which I will offer suggestions on later..no time at the moment, sorry :)), I would set the CR to at least 22, perhaps 23.

I cant help but agree with Scott. If this is meant to represent the guys from the movies, its way overpowered.

I would make the Predator race a 4 or 5HD Humanoid (or maybe even Monstrous Humanoid) with high stats (but not as high as those you have there) and some really good bonuses to Climb, Jump, and Tumble. I would also have them advance by character class with their favored class being Fighter.

While I understand why you would think its overpowered I based him off of both the movies and several comic books and the several novels. What I was aiming for is a creature is the ultimate hunter. Particularly epic level parties. Though this is just an average yautja without any of its equipment (you think its powerful now, just wait till you see its equipment). Just an idea of its coming equipment- Hunter Mask, Armor, Bionetting, Plasma Castor, Wrist Blade, Smart Disk, Combi-Stick, Wrist Lasor, Razor Blades, Net, Burner, Cloaking System, Tool Kit, and Power pack.

Though a Powered down version could make for a nice/slighlty overpowered PC race.

And Just wait till you see its Self-Destruct.:D

you cold even modify the size of the creature to the upper limist of medium. I don't recall the creature having that much reach over Arnie ...

agree with Grazz't/DnDchick ... if you want CR 22 let it get there thru character lvls and such (would make sense ... Danny Glover got a young 'un ... who wasn't quite as high level as some others) ...

besides I don't seem to recall these things doing anything that decent level jedi couldn't handle :p

[edit: ... just remembered something (only about 10 hours later!) ... I thought the creatures was kinda tough ... but would it be that tough (all those special abilities) without it's technology?]

In retrospect I am now making this the clan leader (without its technology). Ill remake to handle the younger ones (maybe about 12-16 hit dice). As well as the commoners of their race.
