D&D 5E (2024) Predict WotC's 2026 D&D releases

There is also something to be said for avoiding this level of thematic saturation in a given year.

If you don’t like Giants, but the big adventure book and the big supplement are both giant themed, you’re basically taking the year off from buying D&D products, and WotC doesn’t want that.
Assuming they're only putting out two books, which seems extremely unlikely, based on the past few years.

I'm not buying this year's Forgotten Realms books, but I did buy the Monster Manual, Dragon Delves and Heroes of the Borderlands.

Storm Kings Thunder was produced though the same year as Volo's Guide to Monsters, which has a section on... giants! Bigby is a larger amount of info, but there was some initial synergy as well. They did similar synergy with Xanathar and Dragon Heist, Fizban and Dragonlance, and Tasha and Witchlight. It's not much, and you could argue more can be done, but synergy was attempted.
Good note. But I always felt like those tie-ins were half-baked. Much like the integration of Baldur's Gate into Descent Into Avernus. Or the fact that there still isn't a Baldur's Gate campaign inspired by BG3.

Which reminds me...

Prediction: 2026 is the year that the BG3-inspired campaign finally comes out.

Hasbro begins the Universes Beyonding of D&D.

Q1 - Game of Thrones D&D supplement
Q2 - Final Fantasy D&D supplement
Q3 - The Matrix D&D supplement
Q4 - Spongebob Squarepants D&D supplement
You joke, but if D&D actually had an official Final Fantasy XIV crossover book, it might be the first time in genuinely a decade that I want to buy a WotC book.

I don't think that they'll do a sequel to Heroes of the Borderlands next year. I think they'll have wanted to know how well it does before starting development on something like that, which would put it a year or two down the road. I DO think that Dark Sun is on its way, in one form or another. Another MTG book, probably, as well. Hopefully WotC-made Spell Cards. Otherwise, I really have no idea.
Usually in the past few years, the illustrations in the books often had a hint of books that were upcoming ("Wanted: Kelek" in Tasha's foreshadowing Wytchlight and the Gymnasium picture foreshadowing Planescape). Have we seen anything in the likes of the 2024 books or Dragon Delves that might hint at something? Maybe an Easter Egg hidden in Heroes?

Hmm... interesting thought. I'll have to have a look.

Lorwyn Campaign Setting Book in Q1

Some sort of Adventure Anthology in Q2

Ravenloft supplement (like Forge of the Artificer) in Q3

Dark Sun Setting Books (one player and one DM) in Q4
This seems like a good guess.

Hoping the Adventure Anthology follows up on their FR book.

I also holding out hope for another Radiant Citadel book, perhaps more AP than Anth.
