I have the good fortune to have a great deal of extra space at my disposal, and i want to turn it into a really great game space. I have about 1100 square feet to work with, which translates into a pretty good sized living room, full kitchen, a second room of pretty good sized that was once a bedroom, and a full bath.
My wife and i have toyed with the idea of opening the space up to the local game community as a place to meet and play. Inviting groups that we know, and people we know that are running games, so that they could come to play, and have plenty of room and peace. We have gamed in lots of places with cramped dining rooms, annoying pets, curious children and of course significant others. We now appreciate what we have, and enjoy our games a little more.
Our question is what sorts of ammenities woulld make the place great to game in? We already have old wooden tables, and good overhead lighting. If you were going to go to a dedicated game room, what would you want there?
