Prestige class focusing on item creation?

Roll for Initiative!
I'm looking for a prestige class that focuses on creating magic items. I know of the Master Alchemist in one of the FR books, but I was looking for something dealing with the other forms of items. Perhaps something that functioned similar to the Master Alchemist. I've been through the Tome and Blood, but I just can't find a decent one.

Can you help?

Thanks!

There's the Gnome Artificer in MaoF.

That's a good thought, but I was thinking more traditionally... :)

Something focusing in wands and rings, staves and wands, etc.

But keep those ideas coming!

My group has been working on something like this with a loose basis on the Archmage. We were envisioning the gaining of a something related to the metamagic feats or something similar at each level, but at the cost of a spell slot.

We were trying to work out how to balance it, but hadn't gotten there yet. If there is interest, I can certainly post what we have in progress.

Same here. I helped a fellow DM of mine build it, but his damn player never used it, not to my knowledge anyway. Oh well. :)

By the way, just in case nobody has said it yet...Welcome to the boards, Jay.

These are more specific than what you're looking for, but Path of Magic has a Ring Sage PrC (specializes in magic rings, of course) and one of the Rokugan books has a magical artisan that specializes in forging magic weapons (it may not even require any spellcaster levels, I forget).

Not to make this a house rules thingy, but here's mine.

ARTIFICER
The artificer is a creator. He lets his creativity flow into his work, making items of surpassing quality. Some measure of the artificer’s power flows from his devotion to Tade, the Maker.
Hit Die: d4.
Prerequisites: Craft (any two) (10 ranks each). Skill Focus (craft). Any three item creation feats. In addition, the character must have created at least one masterwork item for each craft skill and one magic item for each item creation feat she possesses and must worship Tade.
Class Skills: Alchemy (int), Appraise (int), Craft (int), Open Locks (dex), Profession (wis), Scry (int), Use Magic Device (cha). Skill points per level: 4+int bonus.
Base Attack: Poor (as wizard)
Good Saves: Fort and Will.
Poor Saves: Reflex

Level Special Abilities
1 Creative Force (10%), Craft Bonus
2 Bonus Feat
3 Creative Force (15%)
4 -
5 Creative Force (20%)
6 Bonus Feat
7 Creative Force (25%)
8 -
9 Creative Force (30%)
10 Bonus Feat

CLASS FEATURES
Weapon & Armor Proficiency: Artificers gain no weapon or armor proficiency but are proficient in any armor or weapons they craft themselves.
Spells: At every level the artificer’s spellcasting ability in one class increases by one level. Naturally this doesn’t affect any other class abilities.
Craft Bonus: The artificer gets a competence bonus to all Craft checks equal to his class level.
Creative Force: The artificer can craft items more easily than most, and his xp expenditure is reduced by the noted amount. This ability has no effect on the monetary cost or creation time.
Bonus Feats: At 2nd level and every four following levels the artificer gains a bonus item creation feat.

Hope it's of some use to you... you can replace references to Tade with any creation/craftsmanship-type deity.

I would imagine that a prestige class specialized in Item creation would have a way to reduce the XP cost, increase CR of items and maybe half the time it takes. I would suggest the PrC gets additional spells at half rate (once every other level) and that he/she gets 2+Int for skills and her skill range is limited (like Wizards).

So I'm thinking Cost increase by 10% and 1/30 XP at 1st. Bonus metamagic and Item Creation Feats at 2-5-8. 3/4 Time at 3rd, 1/2 time at 8th. At 10th - level the XP is 1/100 Cost increase by 30%, 5th - 1/50th Cost increase by 20% 5th Level your CR for saves vs your items increases by +1, and +2 at 10th.

Thats a rough suggestion.
