How complicated and detailed is it?

Some of the things mentioned are pretty simple (Power Attack optimisation, multi-class abuse).

Is there anything for experienced players?

What!?!? Improved Initiative is a bad feat for fighters? It allows you a greater range tactical options, there are lots of monsters that you don't want to get close to, or if your a ranged specialist, or if you have pounce, needs to activate a magical item (drink potion), etc. In the suprise round a fighter can't do a full attack anyway, but the enemy can charge you if it's first, especially nasty when it can pounce...

The idea is kewl, but the execution leaves a lot of questions and inaccuracies. Something like this would be kewl for a web site, but not for a book.

He's the type of player that has already come up with his own min/maxing to the extreme. Heck, I'm surprised he hasn't written the darn thing himself.

I looked at the preview and it's interesting to see the statistics involved. I wonder if anyone at WotC did a similar analysis when they were developing the game.

I agree with one thing, though: I can't see any advantage to taking the skill-buff feats unless they are a prereq to a prestige class you're interested in.

The preview looks great (although the notes on Improved Initiative obviously only talk about melee tanks, as stated before by Cergorach).

You mean you've already worked out all the Power Attack calculations shown on pages 50-51 of the book? For both one-handed and two-handed use? Cross-referenced by BAB and target AC? :)

For newer players, I think the most useful part of the book will be the basic tactics. For more experienced players, I think the number-crunching will be most useful. Just as the blurb says: "Who has the better chance of hitting an AC 15 target: a 5th level fighter with a two-handed longsword, or a 5th level ranger with a longsword and shortsword?" The tables on page 93-95 let you analyze combat effectiveness (average hits and average damage) by BAB, weapon, hands used, and target AC, which an expert player can use in deciding how to attack an opponent. There's no other resource available with as much statistical analysis of which tactics work best in which situations.

Statistic in point: The Warrior Strategy Guide has 96 tables and diagrams over the course of 96 pages. That's a lot of reference material!
