D&D 5E Preview: Thri-Kreen

My suggestion would be to allow the armed Thri-Keen to include its Bite attack in its Multiattack routine, along with the two weapon attacks. I'd also allow it to use any two weapon attacks - either two gythka, two chatkchas, or one of each.

That's actually a really elegant solution.

Multiattack: The thri-kreen attacks up to three times: once with its bite, then once with its claws or twice with a gythka or chatkcha.

I know it's been a while since they changed them, but I really don't like thri-kreen as bipeds.

They were always bipeds, just they used to have an extended abdominal section. The quadrupeds were like... the thri-kreen version of semi-sentient apes.

In my college D&D club there were so many grey elf PCs that the DMs all decided that Thri-Kreen had an abiding racial hatred for them. I saw a grey elf player brutally murdered by the wandering monster table - a thri-kreen just hopped by one day, perforated the character and hopped away.

You're DM may have been exposed to Dark Sun, it's not hatred though...

Elves are delicious.
