The Preserving invoker comes a lot closer to Archivist than the Avenger does, I think- or am I missing something?
I'm thinking as far as the Avenger's ranged powers (they have at least one every level).

The Avenger's "Adjure Undead" Channel Divinity one is a good example.

The problem with "the utility swap" is that there are at-will, encounter and daily utilities. How do you make a feature/property that balances that?
Either:

One function for Encounter utilities (Similar to the way that the Tome specialization lets you use Encounter powers).

One function for Daily utilities (like the magical item presented).

I used to poo poo PCs fighting gods. I used to think it was over the top munchkin silliness. I think playing games with larger than life but serious heroes - like Exalted and Scion - changed my opinion of that.

In any case, 4e is the first edition where I find the prospect of fighting a deity to be extremely interesting. The epic tier truly changes the tone of the game. Here the PCs battle against transcendent threats to all existence, with everything hanging in the balance. At this stage, they are beyond legend - they are the stuff of myth.

Wotc finally caved in to popular misconception and made green slime mobile. Time to bring out the glass beads.
The minis they preview are absolutely, positively hideous. People actually buy this crap? I'm stunned.
While Firemage was better as the bonded fire summoner before, "absolutely, positively hideous" is exaggerating way too far. The yellows do contrast way too much, almost like they were supposed to get a light brown inkwash. The ice caster's blue armor and face do need another level of detail, though her loincloth has an acceptable level of detail. The Royal guy in gold armor looks absolutely fine for a prepaint.
