Price (and name) this poison!

No psionics in Praemal, and I'd like a poison that acts like a poison. Rarity isn't an issue; the enemy has been planning this for a long time, as the latest round of aggression in centuries of warfare with these dwarves.

So, some Psions with Ego Whip?
:) They'd be the clean-up crew.

Anyway, I stand by Will poison, but the effect could be anything -- exhaustion, sleep, nausea, confusion, insanity. Any of those would be enough.

Cheers, -- N

Well, this is also tailored as a solo challenge for a dwarf barbarian/dwarf. He's succeeded wildly as a big smashing berserker, but my goal for this adventure is to force him to use his non-physical stats and be more druidic. (It's Emus from my Midwood story hour.)

Under other circumstances, I definitely agree about attacking dwarves where they're weakest.

mind sharing why it has to be poison? cant he find a more suitable/effective way to get past the guards?

Dwarvesbane/Whatever name you want, Price that you guys decide, but the thing I'm interested in is the background...so here is a possible one.

This poison, designed to target the hearty constitutions of the dwarven race, is created with the very substance of their mortal enemies. One gallon of giant's blood mixed with the hair of an orc chieftain must boil for three days down to one vial's worth of liquid. So far, the poison is incomplete. Within one day of the actual poisoning, the alchemist must add a sprinkling of ground bone from an animated dwarf skeleton and the spit of a goblin that his killed at least three dwarves. This completed poison only lasts 24 hours, but the partially-competed version can be kept for an indefinite time. An assassin who is targeting a dwarf may carry several vials of this viscous scarlet substance and a small packet of the bones that have been dipped in the goblin spit.

What do you guys think?

...maybe, as he is a king, he have a personal "taster" (sorry, dont know the name in english..is the guy who eat a litle bit before the king).

the poison should act slow, IMO.

or u can give him some kind of acid...

or better, once i saw in O.Z. (the show with prisioners) a guard who died after eating food with glass (the glass was beaten like powder), so he die after a couple of ours

Wouldn't Con damage be preferred to Str damage, then? Hits a dwarf right in his gut, reduces the pride of the dwarven race to a sniveling housecat weak in the knees. A dwarf king who can't take a hit in battle without collapsing is no dwarf king at all.

Well, I'm mostly trying to stop the dwarf barbarian from beating the enemy by just smacking him really, really, really hard with his greatclub, which has been the finisher in more than one adventure to date. He's got spells, abilities, and animal companion, and other resources. I want to make him work those muscles this adventure.
