Well, I'm mostly trying to stop the dwarf barbarian from beating the enemy by just smacking him really, really, really hard with his greatclub, which has been the finisher in more than one adventure to date. He's got spells, abilities, and animal companion, and other resources. I want to make him work those muscles this adventure.
...maybe, as he is a king, he have a personal "taster" (sorry, dont know the name in english..is the guy who eat a litle bit before the king).
the poison should act slow, IMO.
or u can give him some kind of acid...
or better, once i saw in O.Z. (the show with prisioners) a guard who died after eating food with glass (the glass was beaten like powder), so he die after a couple of ours
For slow acting poison you could mix the poison with a potion of delay poison. Nothing special happens until the potion ceases it's function Then the poison kicks in. Perhaps even both two saves made without 1 min between.
