Pricing a Magic Item

I'm trying to find out what the bonus type is. (ie. Resistance, enhancement, Luck, unnamed, dodge...)

You mean for the cloak you mentioned in your first post? If so, then I already answered you in that regard as well. It is a resistance bonus (it's a +2 cloak of resistance that I quoted), but you have to take into account that the cloak of willpower is only one-third as useful as usual.

I would do a gradated system like this.

Bonus^2 * 500 for one save
Bonus^2 * 700 for two saves
Bonus^2 * 1000 for all three saves

Seems a fair trade. Though wouldn't it be easier just to make a ring with a spell that does this?

He (desperately) wants his character to have a cloak of Willpower... What does "Save bonus (limited)" mean? What kind of bonus type is that? And is that the entry that I should be looking at?

If this is causing grief for you, it's important to realize that by the rules, your player doesn't automatically have the right to invent a new, nonstandard item. You're choosing to make an exception in your game for his character... you may find it easier to stick to the core rules and not have to deal with house rules for new items.

Hi!
Following the rules for multiple effects on one item the price for a bonus to a single saving throw would be 200 gp times bonus squared.
Here's how I get that:
1000 gp = price for 3 saving throws = price for fortitude + price for mental times 2 + price for reflex times 2
so 1000 gp = 5 x which get's you to x = 200 gp
Ok, I know that's probably far less than should be charged but it would follow the rules

I'd have the item an insight bonus (bonus^2 x 2500) and halve the cost if it applies only to one save.
