Pricing items that take up multiple slots

Let's say we have a fairly large Item, like full plate that takes up multiple item slots. [standard magical fullplate normally lets you change out the helmet/bracers/ gauntlets/ boots /etc.] Now barring the suit giving extra benefit for the slots like a speed bonus [effectively built in boots of striding] what would a fair discount be per slot taken up / wasted?

This line of thinking comes from a plan for Living Armor in my own game. The suit is very protective giving both armor and natural armour, but you can't take it off. It also interferes with the magical energy of your body at key points preventing the wearer from benefiting from the following "slots"

suit of armor: well the suit certainly counts as armor
headband, hat, or helmet
vest, vestment, or shirt:
pair of bracers or bracelets
pair of gloves or gauntlets
pair of boots

some of these slots will be compensated for others won't.

Yup. Basically, if it's beneficial to have both powers on one magic item, such as a Belt of Strength and Dexterity, then the second and all others get doubled.

If it doesn't really make a difference to have both powers, such as having multiple castable spells in a magic item, then the second most expensive power only costs 75% of the total for that power, and the third and all remaining less costly powers are at only 50% of their normal cost. This is how staffs are priced.

I was asking oh how to price an item that TAKES UP multiple slots, not a single slot item that has multiple abilities.

for example a suit of full plate +2 that also takes up you helmet, gauntlet, bracer and boot slots.

I'd say cut the price by 10%

Oh. Well...that's different. :) I'd have to go with Crothian. I would price up all the pieces of the armor separately then simply add them together. I would then apply a 10% discount for inconvenience or a 10% (or higher) increase for convenience.

I think you're missing out on a great opportunity here. If neither #1 nor #2 exist, then there's no need for toilets, and no chance for greedy PCs to go pit-diving in said toilets in search of treasure. I have actually seen this done.

Of course they usually tend to find things like otyughs and transmissible diseases instead of treasure, but that never seems to faze them.
