Primeval - is it any good?

It's acceptable cheese. Each episode the team hunt some prehistoric creatures which have come through one the time portals which have started popping up throughout the UK. The team is constructed to get the widest demographic appeal: clever guy, tough guy, cute girl, nerdy guy, mysterious girl and icy girl who turns out good. I dubbed it "Torchwood for kids".

If you like lightweight sci-fi, you'll probably like this. Nothing deep, but fun. At the very least, you'll some scenario or encounter ideas from it.

It's fun. Lightweight, certainly, but the episodes are consistently entertaining. Tension is built and maintained well in the scripts, the effects are excellent, and the cast does their job quite adequately.

It's certainly far, far better than Torchwood.
