D&D 5E Primeval Thule for 5th edition: Wizards I hope you are taking notes.

I got my PDF copy of Primeval Thule and all I can say is it's fantastic!

This campaign setting has actually gotten me excited about playing 5th edition again. When you compare this product to any of Wizards', it blows them out the water. This is exactly the way you do a campaign setting and I really hope Wizards is taking notes.

I was reading through the credits and I noticed Ed Greenwood helped to create this product which makes me even more impressed. If Rich and the guys continue to put out products like this I will gladly walk away from Wizards and never look back.

This was well worth the 20 I paid into the Kickstarter. Well done guys!

If you are back to playing 5E, I'm pretty sure WotC is happy regardless of the setting you choose to use.

Happy gaming! :)

Why would they be happy if I stopped buying their stuff and bought my material from another company?
Does Primeval Thule negate any need of the D&D game rule to play?

If it doesn't, then WotC will be happy even if you stop buying their stuff because you are playing their game and other folks that might come along and play with you might choose to buy more D&D stuff even after you have decided that you got everything you needed from WotC, and because it doesn't matter who buys what from who - people playing D&D of some kind means more chances that more new people hear about it and join in on the fun in one way or another.

If you already create a new thread to tell everyone how much you like the adventure, it would be great if you could include a few bullet points on why it is good.

Also:
- How easy is it to use for new DMs?
- Is it more "open world" or more story-focused?
- Can you play it just with the basic rules or does it require non-free rules (+MM) to play?
- Does it focus more on combat and dungeon-exploration or more on RPing and towns?

Im actually a bit confused. How is Sasquatch releasing a Primeval Thule 5e when there isnt a OGL/anything similar for it yet? Are they hedging that because they did Princes of the Apocalpyse its like a free card to create their own 5e stuff because they think the Wizards Lawyers wont target them over it? (Kinda like what Kobold Press did)

There are a ton of threads about using the OGL. Basically in the same way the OSR has used the OGL to recreate older rules and make compatible products lots ( have a look at drive thru) of companies have made 5e products. For example, Kobold Press, Frog God Games, Legendary Games and Goodman Games. To name a few. they are breaking no rules

Edit. Even ENWorld is in on it, check the en5sider sub forum out!
