D&D 5E Princes of the Apocalypse - Hidden Tunnel (spoilers)

In the Sacred Stone Monastery there's a hidden tunnel that leads to a hidden entrance 250ft west of the monastery. I'm wondering if the Black Earth cultists know about it and frequent it or if it's still from the Knights of the Silver Horn who sealed it with a cave-in? What makes more sense? The cultists may know about it but don't use it? Or maybe that's how they got the people they kidnapped in? I'm having a hard time deciding here and can't find anything in the module that indicates anything about the tunnel other than that it's in well-hidden spot.

So, you're just asking if the tunnel is currently used or not? Per the book I don't think it is used, the cultists probably know about it though, but change it up however you want. If you're wanting the PCs to find a secret way in, have them spot cultists transporting prisoners to the surface entrance. IMC, I just ignored it, when the PCs looked it was just a collapsed tunnel, they moved on to more interesting stuff.

My group actually escaped through the tunnel, half dead. Now they just want to know if the tunnel was used recently. I know I can just decide as DM, but I'd prefer to let the adventure decide if possible.
