Problems with Dungeon Tiles

First Post
I just got a set of [DU3] Dungeon Tiles: Caves of Carnage from my local bookstore. New copy, still shrinkwrapped, none of the pieces punched out - until I came home and started punching them out, that is. Sheet 2, which is underground rivers on one side and cave floors with rubble on the other, isn't right. The cuts don't conform to where the grid is on the illustrations, being off by up to 1/4".

The store's return policy states that the merchandise must be in store-bought condition, which, with most of the pieces punched out, it certainly is not. Should I try to return it anyway, or take up the issue with WotC? I had to special order the set, so I don't know if they'll have inventory for an exchange.

Call the store and ask; tell them you bought the item, it's misprinted, but you didn't notice until you'd started punching out the pieces, and ask if you can return it to them. If they say nay, email or call WotC customer support.

And bear in mind that, depending upon where you live, you may have consumer rights that override the store's own returns policy. In the UK, for instance, customers generally have the right to return a store-bought item if it is in unsatisfactory condition, regardless of what restrictions the store may try to impose.

MarkB & coyote6 have the right of it. Contact the store, then WotC then see what your consumer rights are if you still aren't satisfied. I have found that when you want to return defective product most (good) stores are happy to do it.
