Problems with Starlancer (Combat Flight Sim)

I've been running all over the internet trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with this game, but ENWorld was my last resort.

Ok, here's the thing. Whenever I get to certain points in any mission (right now it's on mission 2 when the yamato shows up) the game "unexpectedly" quits with no explantion given. "Unexpectedly" is in quotes because it has become anything but unexpected.

All my drivers are up to date etc., so I don't know what's goin' on. Goddam Microsoft is no longer providin tech support for the game (money-grubbing *&)@*(#^#$#s) and I can't find a patch ANYWHERE.

What OS you running? if its win XP made sure you have service pack one installed, that fixed alot of the problems wix XP has running games, if that does not work, you might have to try running it in compatiblty mode.

I figured out that the problem is my video card, which is an Nvidia GeForce 4 128 Ti 4800. Apparently they are not meant specifically for gaming, and when used FOR gaming perform not as well as a 64 would, for some reason. Besides the point that with Nvidias, when you run constant texture changes (i.e. gaming) occasionally the program involved spontaneously quits.

So I'ma sell this thing and get myself an ATI Radeon 64 until their Doom III card comes out, at which time I'll snatch that.

And for some reason when I try to install service pack one it tells me that I have a pirated version, which I do not. Stupid microsoft.
