IIRC someone at WotC said that's an error when the first rumors went around that the magic items were in the PHB. They're apparently still in the DMG.

But Paragon Paths? Epic Destinies? Looking forward to seeing what that's all about... :cool:

Well on the positive side, at least all the critters in the book will have a illustration. I know that was one of the most disappointing things I encountered in the Monster Manual 3.0
 

Even if it's just a flavorful way of saying "epic feat trees," "destinies" sure does set a certain mood. It makes me wonder what the epic destiny of my gnome illusionist might be.
 

It's definitely good flavour text. The idea of choosing an epic destiny does appeal more than the idea of just continuing on the same progression of levels...
