Fane of the Drow and Hellspike Prision are about the only two I'm really interested in but @ $20 a pop, it's kinda hard to justify...

Magic of Incarnum looks really cool, I'll be keeping an eye out for that one. Likewise, I think that Heroes of Horror will definately be worth a look. However, after the smoking train-wreck that was Champions of Ruin, I wonder about Champions of Valor.

We missed you, Monty Haul. I was hoping for a whole book of magical whoosits that will totally change the way my game is played and isn't planned for in any current setting.

Please tell me this isn't saying they're reprinting PHB spells in a seperate supplement.

Fane of the Drow / Hellspike Prison

What a pity, I was hoping for new adventures, but 16 pages is very very short for my own tastes... And I definitely can find ready locations in other books if I want, so I doubt I would find these two worth buying.

Magic of Incarnum

This is large book, it sounds like a whole new subsystem to use as a whole, perhaps a kind of book somewhat in line with Ghostwalk (but not that extreme to incorporate). I am not attracted by the idea very much yet, but let's see what comes out of it. However I hope it won't end up used as a cherry-pick book.

Spell Compendium

Actually I'd really like to have a compendium of spells in one single book. There are 2 problems tho... (1) what about spells in the NEXT books and (2) 40$ is VERY expensive - by the time it reaches Finland it'll probably cost about 45 euros.

Heroes of Horror

Probably the most interesting. Well, there are already rules for taint or corruption in several books: BoVD, OA, UA... It'll be interesting to see what the rest of the book is going to be.

This sounds very close to a concept I've been knocking around (and have even thrown some spirit-charged feats into the DM's Idea Pipeline). I'll be very curious to see how this book handles the concept of drawing power from souls and spirits.

I'm very much looking forward to the two Fantastic Locations. 16 pages is enough for a good adventure, depending on how it is presented. Not reprinting lots of monster stats would help, of course! :)

Cheers!

I loved the AD&D 2e Spell Compendiums, because they were proud to be every spell ever produced for the system, dating back to ancient issues of Dragon and obscure settings almost nobody had ever heard of, all updated and revised. They were the complete archive of every official spell for AD&D ever made, be it from core book, suppliment, Dragon magazine or module. Of course, they made them at the twilight of 2e, I think that the last volume of the Priest's Spell Compendium was the last 2e book made actually.

Now, this Spell Compendium doesn't even come close. It doesn't claim to have every spell made for 3e, just the most popular and widely used. Half the fun of the old compendiums was finding obscure spells in there you'd never heard of, not just reprints of spells you already liked. Also, if Charles Ryan has been saying we're nowhere near the end of 3e, isn't it a little early to be producing a big master spellbook? Or are we just going to get an Expanded Spell Compendium in a few more years that's bigger, more expensive and outdates our existing one?

Oh, and let me still grumble one more thing: Nothing more for d20 Star Wars?!?
