• NOW LIVE! Into the Woods--new character species, eerie monsters, and haunting villains to populate the woodlands of your D&D games.

Progress is being made!!

Plain simple and horribly horribly munchkin.

As anyone can tell you in path of accession a cost in gold is no cost at all. You might as well give it away

Hurry Hurry +10 items for all, Get um while they last.

I know we can't include the feats, Craft Magic Arms and Armor, etc, But is they're any reason why we don't just have the alter have the same Prerequsites as the feat (Spellcaster Xlevel) and use the same mechanics as the real rules? Why reinvent the wheel when WOTC has already done all the work and we know the real rules work

XP it is

I think Dream_66 is right. Money is simply not a currency. I am going to construct the alter to form items with an xp cost. I will use the 3.0 DM to figure in the cost of xp. (Probably reduced a little bit to account for the pitifully slow xp build up in ascension.) I'll look to use the dmg formulas. I should be able to post the rough estimates of the xp cost soon (48 hours or less from Midnight tuesday morning)

Dreams got a point with xp being the only true resource that a characters has. My point of view is that if you don't like it, and you think the cost is too steep, then don't use the alter =)

And your welcome :) the scripting is kind of fun :)

Is this something you can use to add features to already enchanted items you own?

Or do you make new ones from scratch?

If its updates ones you already own, will it take Xp for just the feature you are adding... or for the overall item(including features already on it from previous times or originaly in it) after the newest enhancement is added?

Will it give you a menu that is something like:
1. add +1 enchantment xp cost =
2. add xyz xp cost =
3. etc... ??

Peace

I think that I could do it any of those ways. But my understanding (and approach) is going to be that it will only cost xp for the added enchantment. The XP cost will be dependant on how big the enhancement is. Currently in my design there are 5 tiers of enhancements. You should be able to add enhancements onto items that already have enhancements. I'll have more details when I am finished scripting all of the items.
