Pronounciation Guide: ISRP Explores the Names of Characters!

Allrighty meh dahlings, I'm only playing with my own character names... for now! :smirk: ...and only the characters that I use the most! Mua-heh.

Tiagan: Tea-YAH-gan ((Invisible letter "y" in that. :D))

Khazor: Kah-zore ((even though I always say "kay-zoar"))

Shontan: Shawn-tan. ((pretty easy.))

Xennic: ZEN-nick ((have to love that letter.))

Before I do any of the Japanese names, there is no stressed syllables in Japanese, therefore none the the syllibles in the Japanese names will be shown to be stressed.

Tsuko: T - su - co, yeah, that was hard. . .

Misao AKA The Weasel Girl: Me- sow (like the pig) Wee-SAL Gurl

Koji: Co- jze

Kaneda: Caw- neigh- da (like the Russian Yes)

Ann Aster: Ann AS-ter

Mayumi: Ma (Like in English) - yumi

Nuriko: Hmm, yea, a hard one of mine. . . Nuh-ri-co

D'Shan: Duh - SHAWN

Lheryl: Erm, I forgot how it was pronouced, *pouts til Niccy helps her out again. . .*

Reesa: I always liked REE - see (Reesy. . .), Ree - SAH and a few others. . .

Malicki: Never gave it much thought but I did it like this: Mal - li (like it LIt) - KEY
 

hrm...as a warning, I suck at pronunciation of the english language...there, I've covered myself.


Ceres Ursidae: SER-rees UR-si-day (Honestly don't know if that's right, but it's how I say it. It's Latin so if anyone out there knows....)

Boodles: BOO-doles

Guan-Thwei: GWAN TH-way

Zentash Syn'alar = ZEN-tash SIN-a-lar
Carthamus = CAR-tha-mus
Talon (too easy) = TAH-lon, but it could be TAY-lon
Gellaenen = Gel-LAY-nen, with a hard-G as in "go", not a J-sound

Dahreen Illurienne = Dahreen (first name is spelled exactly how it sounds) ill - oor - ee- en

Ariya Mas'Kithe = Ah- ri - yah Mahs- Ki- th - e


and of course,

Alighan Damon = Alley - gan Day -mon (common tongue pronounciation :D )



Ok...so other names...

Let me just say, that I always pronounced Acaed's name correctly.

Jeajea = Jay - jeya (but I KNEW it was supposed to be JJ 'cause I asked!)

Davon = Dav - on (as opposed to off)

Dearah = Deer - ah

Tito = Tee- toh

Malicki = Mah - lee - kee

and...I shall take Wraith's challenge


Re'shak Del' anier = Reh shahk deh lahn ee ay

Zentash Syn'alar = Zen tahsh sin alahr (though I will admit the first dozen times I saw it it registered as Sy ya na lahr...go figure)

Carthamus = car - tha - muss

Talon = Talon (indeed it is)

Gellaenen = Gel ay nen (...hey wait! YOU'RE Gellaenen! :D )
