protect against area spells?

The various Wall spells could do in a pinch, with potentially humorous results if used as counterspells. Have a readied action for casting Wall of Force, spot him casting a spell, and have the opponent's Fireball detonate very prematurely. :)

From the Spell Compendium there is Anticold Sphere - Sor/Wiz 5; basically a magic circle against cold - all creatures in the 10ft r. circle are immune to cold, and it hedges out creatures with the cold subtype. Provides massive protection within it's area. I don't recall offhand if the spell itself has an energy descriptor or not - if it does, Energy Sub would be nice to ahve in conjuction with it as well.

Spells:
Ruin Delver's Fortune from Spell Compendium - 4th level, immediate action. Give yourself a Reflex save bonus = Cha modifier for 1d4 rounds. Oh, and did I mention you get Evasion as well?
Wings of Cover from Races of the Dragon - 2nd level, immediate action. +4 Reflex bonus but, Sorc only spell, sorry...no Wizards.

The real trouble is protecting against non damaging area effects, since the energy protections don't work against those.
