Does Protection from Evil prevent Insanity spell from affecting a creature for the duration of the spell?
I thought originally that it did, but after closer reading of the spell description for PfE I'm no longer think that is the case.
The relevant part of the PfE spell is bolded (my emphasis) below:

Insanity (see below) is Instantaneous, so I don't think it fits in the above. This spell wards a creature from attacks by evil creatures, from mental control, and from summoned creatures.
...blocks any attempt to ... exercise mental control over the creature (including enchantment (charm) effects and enchantment (compulsion) effects that grant the caster ongoing control over the subject, such as dominate person). The protection does not prevent such effects from targeting the protected creature, but it suppresses the effect for the duration of the protection from evil effect.
Your thoughts?Insanity
Enchantment (Compulsion) [Mind-Affecting]
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
The affected creature suffers from a continuous confusion effect, as the spell.
