Psionic: Skin of Ectoplasmic Armor and Leather +2?

Hello, I was wondering if you could wear a Psychoactive Skin of Ectoplasmic Armor (Armor bonus +8) from the Complete Psionic Handbook, purchased at x2 value so that it was slotless, and also wear Leather Armor +2 (Armor Bonus +2, Enhancement Bonus +2) so that when your Psychoactive Skin is "on", you have +8 armor bonus and +2 enhancement bonus?

Would this work? Thank you!

No. They wouldn't stack.

To clarify why they don't stack.

They both provide an armor bonus and liked bonuses don't stack (with a few exceptions, but armor and shield bonuses are not amongst those exceptions)

From the rules compendium (pg 21) {Text here helps clarify what the rules are}

"Enhancement {Bonus}

An enhancement bonus represents an increase in an armor bonus, a natural armor bonus, or a shield bonus. It can also represent an increase in a weapon's effectiveness or a general bonus to an ability score."

That's somewhat like building a pair of Bracers of Armor with a +2 bonus... instead, look for the price of bracers with a +2 higher bonus.

IMHO, +8 is as high as those pre-epic items should go.
