I love psionics. However, due to various DM's decisions, I have only gotten to play 1 psionic PC in 28 years. This ticks me off.

Do you allow the use of psionics or did you ban them? Why or why not?

I'll fully allow them, but I've only had one player ever actually play one.

And after not having done much the whole session of that oneshot game, when he blew the back out of a Rutterkin's skull and made its brains leak out of its nose, ears and eyesockets... well, he (and 3.5 psionics) got some sudden attention and respect from the other players (and they also were a bit shocked by the, umm... graphic... description I gave to the event beyond what I gave here).

I am not too into Psionics, though I have probably never given them a fair shot due to my initial reaction to them. When I DM I usually say no psionics. Maybe one day I will open my mind a bit and give them a try.

love the system, hate the flavor.

While I definately won't have clarisentients and whatever in my medieval flavored campaigns any time soon, I wouldn't mind using the power point system for more traditional casters.

As player and DM I use them. However, the other DM (we alternate sessions) hates Psionics ever since that epic game with the Psion Uncarnate. Good times.

For the latest psionic version in the XPH I only disallow Psions IMC. Too much hassle for a DM to deal with in a balanced campaign (keeping it balanced that is). As a DM I typically don't go with the whole 4 encounters/day template-thingy to keep psions balanced with the other caster classes. Not missing much there, never liked the flavor for psionics anyhow.

I despise them and would like to see them burninated from D&D forever. Psionics might be appropriate for sci-fi but they are completely incongruous with D&D or standard fantasy.
