  • The system works, but could be much better. We use Psionics if a player really wants to play a Psio

We Do like the rules (although a low level Psion can be a liability), but with all the D20 options....it doesn't come up a helluva lot. We run several games and the only active Psion is a dual class Githzerai monk. Dual class Psions seem to work best.....

It is the most balanced system....and in my 24 yrs of playing the game.....we've used an abused the uber-powered 1st edition and the over powered 2nd edition..... We do however use Bruce Cordell's optional Progression (found on Monte's site)...+

So i am sort of in between 1 and 2......i like the rules although Psions are very rare.....and i think that is the best option

Actually since I'm a Greyhawker I don't like to use Psionics in my game unless its one of the few who have them ie Illithiads and Giths et al. Never for a pc although if the rules were a little clearer when the pcs reached the level of having those types of encounters I would probably allow a "shift" into the ability to use those powers based on some roll of the dice or such:D

I just got "If Thougts Could Kill", and I think I like it and will use it (in 8 levels :) ) as an adventure. It can be easily adapted for Dragonstar, I think.

The changes seem to be good, though I am still thining about if I really use the changed power points/power discovered table.

I use it as an alternative magic system used by Mages; the term "psionic" doesn't exist in my world.

If I were starting my campaign now, I'd seriously consider introducing another magic system based upon the "force" in star wars.

I'd love divine magic and arcane magic to be completely different in feel too...

Psionics has been a staple in my game since way back when a psionicist class came out in the dragon. I was always having to do major patchjobs on the 2e versions of psionics though. 3e is much better, though. However, I do recommend ITCK.

In my campaign, two major kingdoms use psionics that are opposed to the players, so psionics come up a fair bit in the game. And no player confuses psionics with sorcery.
