Psychic Warrior/Barb Specialty Feats

Okay, see I have a reason behind this whole Rage-induced psionic power thing. Psionics is all in the mind, right, and to me, Rage is all in the mind (in cause). It seems to me that Rage could really be made into a psionic feat in and of itself, should someone want to do so(or maybe a power, but that could get messy).

I see a psionically active rager as a character who has tapped into his mental energy through a slightly different pathway... he's taken the back route in. I would imagine that a Raging psionicist would be manifesting powers or using abilities much like he did when his powers first began to show up during adolesence (nearly at random).

And as for the psionically enhanced rage, I say hell yeah! Like I've said above, I feel that Rage is fairly much akin to a psionic type ability anyways, and someone who has greater psionic potential should be able to tap this to increase to potency of his own anger.

As for psionic attacks, I think that they are pretty useful, just... dull. I see no reason why a raging character should not be able to force his unhinged mind upon those around him. Hell, based on the increased will save and ability modifiers, raging would be one of the best ways to approach psionic combat (Anyone seen Dark City? Think of the ending where John duels Mr. Book mentally [Psionic Combat anyone?]. John's force of will was enhanced by his anger [look at his face in that scene and tell me he ain't mad].)

Prestige class would be fun (hell core class would be fun... can't you just see a tribe of barbarians who, by tapping their "inner voices", unleash the powers of the Egoist or Savant?), but then again, I have no problem with feats that allow multi-class characters to better unite their two (or more) classes. If anything, it would allow for better character concept realization for soome people, and a few new tricks for a DM.

It already is a spell (I don't remember wich book, maybe MotW?), and there is an Extra Raging feat that grants 2 extra uses of a rage-like ability per day, so yeah, I think it would be reasonable:

Psychotic[Psionic]
You may use your psychic energy to drive yourself into an insane rage.
Prerequisites: Con 13+, Str 13+, Reserve PP 3+
Benefit: Once per day, as long as you have the reserve PP, you may enter a Rage, as the barbarian.

Actually, on 2nd thought, this may take glory away from Barbs.

Mental roots of abilities...

IMC, psi, magic, rage, etc., are all tagged with the source of their power: intellectual (wizardly magic, psion psionics, ranger magic, defensive stances), emotional (rages, clerical magic, bardic magic, sohei magic), and intuitive (sorcerer/shugenja magic, monk abilities, Psychic Warrior psionics).

Feats available only to 1st-level characters allow characters to link abilities with the same source, like this one:

Holy Berserker
You can use your simplest holy powers even in the throes of your rage.
Prereqs: Ability to cast clerical spells OR barbarian rage ability, 1st-level character.
Benefit: Choose one of your patron diety's domains. You may cast clerical spells from this domain when in a rage, except spells of the highest level you can cast.

This sort of thing *does* become very powerful at high levels; it is one of the reasons Torchbearer is a mythic fantasy game. On the other hand, for the first-level character, it has no function, so for a while the character is minus a feat. Ow.

I lost my original version of this feat, so excuse me if this seems a bit raw-I rewrote it from memory.

Psionic Rage
Requirements: Con 13+, (Wis or Cha-I'm not sure which is better.) 13+, Reserve power Points 3+

Benefits: Once per day, you may induce a bout of nigh-uncontrolable rage in yourself. You gain all of the benefits and penalties associated with a Barbarian rage(+4 Str, +4 Con, +2 Will saves, -2 AC). The rage lasts 3+Con Modifier rounds or until your reserve power points fall below the minimum(3). You lose 1 power point each round that you maintain the rage.
