Ptolus - Six Days Early!

Reading some of the posters here, I'm reminded yet again to be grateful for Dragonworld.de.

I don't know to which demon lord they sold their soul to get those incredible delivery speeds, but whatever agreement they have, it works.

Just curious, are the books you get written in the German language? I'd love to get my hands on the core books if they were available in the German language due to my Germanic heritage.

Dragonworld distributes RPGs within Germany, whatever their language. They won't deliver to the USA, as far as I am aware. And I've never bothered with German-language RPG books unless they were originally written in German in the first place (such as German Call of Cthulhu books - the German publisher of the game has produced some amazing stuff, some of which Chaosium is now trying to translate into English...).

Apparently (as far as I can determine after some Googling), the German Core Rules are in a state of transition - the rights to D&D in Germany switched company some time ago. The old version is no longer comercially available, but the new one is supposed to come out this month. Perhaps you can get it via Amazon then...

But back to the main topic: I now have Ptolus. Fortunately, another person who lives in the same house got it while I was away.

Strangely enough, this does not seem to be a "standard" preorder edition - it didn't have the copies of the "Player's Guide" (but to be fair, Dragonworld didn't promise that on their website) ,and it isn't numbered, either - but it does have "Night of Dissolution".

Oh well - as long as I have it and can gloat about it... :D

Urban Werewolves Level Adjustment

Ptolus players probably oughtn't know where these critters dwell, hence the spoiler block: [sblock]When I first tried to run the Banewarrens, one of the PCs became infected by one of the lycanthropes working for house Vladaam. I emailed Monte to ask about an appropriate level adjustment, and I remember that he responded, but I apparently did not write it down, can not find the email, and I discover that he didn't include a LA in the Ptolus description of them either. Argh![/sblock]Anybody got a good suggestion?

Monte, you listening (yeah, right! pull away from GenCon for a minor rules question!)

I just got my FedEx Tracker. It will arrive at Kronberg Taunus at 17.! So you can gloat abot 5 days. Then I will brag about my signed copy (and mabe a doodle?) by Monte himself.

A, well 5 days is enough time for a TPK in my old campaign to clear the plate for a Ptolus campaign...

Frukathka, maybe you can e-mail dragonworld.de and ask them if they would send a German D&D version to US.

Still waiting here in the UK. Has anybody outside the US received a copy yet?

Yep - I got mine yesterday (UK). I got an email with a Fedex tracking link, so I was able to watch its progress. Didn't you get something like this?

Yeah - I eventually got an e-mail from FedEx and it wasn't particularly impressive reading, or what I wanted to read.

Having been assured by Monte on his site that they would be trying to ensure that Ptolus arrived with those of us who pre-ordered by 10th August if possible, and after WW had informed us that all international orders went on Monday 7th I got an e-mail from Fedex yesterday to tell me that WW had finally despatched my copy on the 11th (its still in Georgia as I type this according to the tracking reference!)

Its not due to arrive here in the UK until the 17th, a week late, which is hardly suprising given when they actually posted it.

I know the book will be excellent - but I'm totally unimpressed with WW. If you cant keep to a delivery estimate for whatever reason it would be nice to tell the consumers the truth!

Thanks for the link, I'll look into it.

As for Ptolus, I placed my order directly with WW, but have not yet received it. What gives? Anybody else that placed their order with WW residing in the US still waiting for it?
