Some of each. Homebrew is fun, but lots of work. Fun work, but work nonetheless. I've done a FR campaign for the past year and am starting a homebrew in the fall. Variety is quite a nice spice!

I run home brew, usually switching to a new campaign setting annually (although I do go back to some settings again and again).

On the other hand, published settings have always been invaluable to me as an idea mine, so I've probably spent way too much on settings that I've never directly used.

I have almost always run Homebrews, but I've been so impressed by The Scarred Lands setting from Sowrd and Sorcery Studdios that I am thinking of using it.

Wanted to ask you Teflon, did you get the SLCS then?

Btw, it's mainly a mixed bag, since I don't always run, BUT I usually run a SL campaign if I can, a modified SL, some FR, (occasionally modified) and what ever d20 stuff I want. I really don't homebrew any more since it's always too hard to get my players to accept anything that's not written in book format.

I have a Britannia 3E quasi-homebrew (based off of the old Ultima CRPGs, but with some liberties taken) that I'm planning to use in the next couple of months. See link in sig.

That's assuming NWN doesn't put a kink in my plans. ;)

In my three campaigns as a 3E DM, I've run:

1. Hybrid Homebrew - I used Greyhawk Gods

2. 1st Kingdoms of Kalamar - I added in firearms, the PCs added in zepplin-like airships.

3. 2nd Kingdoms of Kalamar - Still have the firearms and airships...

I was inspired to bring together my ideas into a setting, and am working on it now... I didn't send the one-pager, but I still find myself motivated to get it to a rough finish.

Have always used homebrew worlds.

when I started playing with modules 20 yrs ago the world wasn't a factor when 15 yrs ago I started thinking of worlds I've done:

1. Yuan Empire: Mongol Hordes sweep across central asia and medieval europe

2. Anziko: Antediluvean African Setting but based on medieval kingdoms ( Mali, Songhay, Kanem-Boru etc)

3. 16-17th Century Europe (and Carribaen Pirates) - based on Solomon Kane

4. Hawaiki: Polynesian setting (current)

Online I play in a Greyhawk setting though...

I run the world of Pokemon where it takes place 10 years after "The Craze" and all of the abandoned Pokemon have gone insane and/or formed their own gangs to carve out their own territories.

The PCs are the former Trainers who must now contend with their abandonment and apathy towards the creatures they once use as tools in a childlike game of "gladiator."

Heaven have mercy on their souls.

it's pretty good. i used it for the southern continent of Aduria in Birthright. No problems, good detail, rich setting, nice product. a good change of pace.
