Call me a masochist, but I figure I'll throw this out there to gauge interest...
If I get enough interest from the d20 & Open Gaming publishers community on this, I'll look into it - and I figure that by looking down the road now, everyone can schedule their Con events and schedule accordingly...
What would the d20 publishers think of taking one night at GenCon SoCal to get a little ways away from the convention venue and hang out (a la after-hours at GAMA)? Obviously, this pre-supposes you are going to be in attendance at GenCon SoCal.
I ask because if there is enough interest, I might volunteer to coordinate something (seeing as how I live just a few minutes from the venue and know what kinds of things are available in the area). This could be something as low-key as having a designated dinner spot to going as a bloc to the Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament restaurant to going to the movies to just hanging around and playing cards.
There's nothing definite right now, and any discussions - including deciding what and when and where would be done in private, just figured I'd throw feelers out there to see if any of the other publishers would be interested in having a planned "mini-getaway" for an evening.
Any publishers that are interested can either let me know on the thread here or hit me with an e-mail. Once I get a feel for how many people are interested, we can start deciding what we want to do.
I just figure some of the folks out there might want to take a break from the venue to go out and relax somewhere for a little while - maybe midway through the convention or something - to break up the monotony of the Con.
Kind of a little private get-together.
Anyway, let me know.
