Publishers needed to host Dungeon Dudes

Any of you publishers interested in helping kick off the Dungeon Dudes?

So, I know most of you are are wondering, 'what is a dungeon dude?' Basically, they are virtual pets with rpg statistics that visitors to websites can train, print, battle, and share. But, for me and for rpg companies, I hope that they will become an effective way to promote brand names, products, etc. Their potential appeal seems to be very broad as I have seen my announcement on comic sites and non-rpg game sites as well as rpg sites.

What I would like to happen is form a Network of companies that have a few dudes on their site---kinda like a webring, only giving the visitors something specific to do. The dudes could be customized to reflect that particular website or they could just be members of the regular set. Then people would visit different sites to advance their virtual characters. Businesses would make their money by increased sales and I would make my money by charging a set-up and/or rental fee).

When setting up a custom set of Dungeon Dudes, the images, the items they find, the monsters they encounter, the phrases they say, and the skills they learn would be taken directly from you own products---a subtle form of advertising. The individual dungeon dude pages would then have an area for an add---not so subtle advertising.

Anyway, the Dungeon Dudes officially launched today (September 30, 2003); I have two expansions in the works.

Again, sorry to be so wordy, but back to the main question: I was just wondering if anyone of you guys would be interested in helping to grow such a network...and if not, what types of things about this idea turn you off---so that I can fix it!

-Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean? Are these just little pictures of critters?
Well, I think the easiest way to understand is to give it a try. Go here http://www.dungeondude.com/dungeondudes.html, pick a character you like by clicking on the picture, name your character and then start telling your character to do things, such as explore, train, rest, etc... When your done, click "save", copy and paste your code into your word processor and next time you want to play copy and paste your code back into the box and load.
Does that help?
I have a guy named "Thor" (chest-thumper #16). I haven't had time to play much, but he's explored, fought some critteres, found stuff, and gained a few levels.

My dragon is only level 7, and I'm still kicking myself for sitting here and playing as long as I did... pretty addictive. I like your idea for publishers...

People can train them online; share their codes in forums; print them; then battle them offline. All of the items, phrases, monsters, skills, and images can be customized to your products. I don't know what counts as a successful launch, but the day of and the day after the launch were my busiest days ever and I found links to the announcement on rpg sites, general game sites, and comic book sites. With the additionn of a few publishers, we could have a rather large snowball on our hands. :)

Anyone who's interested please check them out and feel free to contact me personally.

LOL...It is obnoxiously addictive...I think Jeffrey has something here...Not sure what, but if non-productivity is the goal, LOL.....he's scored! ;)

I'm telling you. I think the reason my guy only has a few levels is because I'm afraid that if I sign on "just to play for a few minutes" I'll end up living in a cardboard condo! :D Dungeon Dudes is a neat idea and one I will continue to support as a player and publisher.

(edit because I can't spell today...)

It's extremely addictive! I need to limit myself or I'd spend all day having Snork explore, practice and train. :D
