So I lifted the Caught in the Tentacles chapter out of Storm King's Thunder and plopped it down into our homebrew campaign, with a few tweaks to meld it with our story.
To sum up, the party (7 PCs all between levels 8 and 12) sail to the Trackless Sea along with nephew of King Hekaton, Ceaseus the Shipwright, who has graciously agreed to help find his missing uncle. After a week+ of sailing, they approach the Morkoth. The two wizards of the party team up to cast invisibility and fly on the Enchanter, who then flies over stealthily and touches the Morkoth's railing with his Quaal's Feather Token! The Morkoth comes to a screeching halt on the water!
One additional detail is that I've replaced the Kraken Slarkrethel with an Ancient Sea Dragon from Tomb of Beasts with a notable modification: it has two crushing tentacles which can be used in tandem as a Lengendary action to crush an object.
So here is my quandary: What happens when Slarkrethel attacks the Morkoth? The ship is stuck in place, but can it be crushed in place? I have an idea of how I'd rule it but want to put it out to the community to see if there's something more creative I might do.
Cheers
