Question about Climbing

One of my players is playing a race (spiderling from the new drow book from Green Ronin) that has a climb speed. Does she suffer the penalties stated in the PHB:

1. Opponents get a +2 to hit and the character gets no Dex mod to her AC when she is climbing.

2. When she takes damage she must make a climb check (and can she Take 10 on that climb check like she can with normal climb checks even when she is threatened/rushed [MM p7])

MM2 and the errata to the MM say that the creature retains its Dex bonus to AC while climbing and opponents get no bonus to attacks vs. the climbing creature. So no penalties.

Although your second question isn't directly addressed in the description, I'd say she does have to make the check and can Take 10, since she is immune to the normal rules for Taking 10 in a distracting situation.
