Question about Forgotten Realms deities and clerics

First Post
So I'm playing a cleric in a Forgotten Realms campaign. I've talked to the DM and he's going to allow me to prestige into Bone Knight. (It's an Eberron class, but it fits fairly well into a non-Eberron setting, I think.) My character will basically be 'inventing' the class. He is not evil, he's actually good, but he thinks that using undead-related power is the best way to defeat evil and help his people.)

My question is this: Are there any Faerunian deities that would support this class? Preferably neutral or above. I know that Kelemvor detests undead stuff, so he's probably right out.

Edit: If this should be on another forum, let me know. New. :)

Maybe Jergal. He's the old LN death god. Used to have a order, Companions of the Palid Mask specialized in combating and commanding undead. Your PC could be trying to reestablish the order.

Welcome to EN World! You could also try asking in the General RPG Discussion forum or even over on Candlekeep.com (the big FR forum).

Jergal is one of my suggestions, also, after looking over dogma in the 3e FRCS and 2e books. He's not particularly fond of undead (since he believes in orderly passage to death and serves Kelemvor), but he does allow for "prolongation of life" through undeath in service of his greater goals.

The two CN war gods might be decent choices, especially Garagos, who is a bit more violent and berzerker. And there are hints he's sliding towards evil. I didn't see anything about views on undead, but probably if they're used to create chaos and battle, Garagos would be fine with it.

I forget the name of that recently ascended necromancer god, IIRC he was a former Red Wizard rival of Szass Tam and a little evil but working under Azuth though making side deals with the evil storm god (Talos I think the storm god's name is). He probably could care less what his followers alignment is and would be all for using necromancy and undead as a means to an end kind of ethos.

Velsharoon, but he's definitely an evil deity. Not sure if a cleric of him would really want to "serve the greater good," you know?

-Given the conditions above (and not really knowing the class), here are my suggestions:

Jergal: Jergal is quite neutral, and has no problem utilizing Undead as a means to an end. Probably the best choice.

Velsharoon: The ascended deity of Necromancers. Obviously, Necromancers deal with Undead. Velsharoon and most of his clergy are evil, but Neutral exceptions can obviously exist.

Mystra/Azuth: Necromancy is a type of magic. How it is percieved is simply based on how it is used. I see no problem with Mystra and/or Azuth condoning a Necromantic-type character so long as they use such power in a good/benevolent/neutral-type way.
